The Meaning of the Stephen Ministry Logo

The logo’s most dominant feature is the cross.  It reminds us that Christ is at the center of Stephen Ministry and all Stephen Ministry relationships.

The broken person behind the cross symbolizes how we are all “broken” people, broken in our separation from God, living from values of the world that are not Christ-centered.  And, we can be broken from the sheer weight of our burdens that can overwhelm us.

The whole person in front of the cross signifies the wholeness we encounter through the transformative power of realizing the gift of God’s grace and forgiveness- that we are already accepted unconditionally just as we are.

The circle is a symbol of God’s eternal and never-ending love for us.  It surrounds us, holds us, heals us.  Our broken and incomplete self is resurrected into wholeness through the “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. (Col. 1:27)

The Stephen Series logo tells the story of a care receiver’s journey from brokenness to wholeness.  It serves as a simple reminder that it is not the Stephen Minister who restores a person to wholeness.  The Stephen Minister is the caregiver. God is the cure giver.  It is the story of the journey of all of us.
